Use the full-screen planner on mobile

The community application uses a wide component panel and grid canvas. Opening it in its own tab gives the grid the most available width and keeps its local layout state on the tool's domain.

The body grid becomes a planning problem long before it becomes full. A useful layout must fit every component, keep the required ports powered, leave working relationships intact, and preserve space for the next item.

The working surface above is the community-made Body Grid Planner by Zdendys79. It runs in the browser and keeps its layout state on the tool's own domain. Use the full-screen link when the embedded canvas feels cramped.

Build an accurate inventory first

  1. Set the planner to the same body size shown in the current save.
  2. Add only components that are actually available to that run.
  3. Match duplicate counts instead of adding one example of each item.
  4. Check every shape and connector against the current game before optimizing.
  5. Leave temporary or speculative upgrades out of the layout.

A solver can only optimize the inventory it receives. One missing Repeater or an extra storage component can make a clean result impossible to reproduce in the game.

Understand the two planning modes

Re-Optimize Layout performs a fast deterministic pass. Use it when the current arrangement is messy and a quick valid baseline is more valuable than searching for the highest score.

SMART runs a longer multi-worker search. It streams improved layouts while it is running and can continue until stopped. This is useful for dense bodies, but a higher planner score is not proof of the best production build. The score rewards working Spinner relationships, compact powered free space, fewer wire cells, and connected remaining space.

If the search stalls:

  • confirm every placed component is represented once;
  • expand the body only if the current save has that expansion;
  • remove an item that is not needed for the current task;
  • start from the fast re-optimized baseline;
  • stop once a result creates the space needed for the next component.

Transfer the result safely

Do not tear down a functioning game grid all at once.

  1. Take a screenshot of the current in-game body.
  2. Keep the planner result visible beside the game.
  3. Move one powered chain at a time.
  4. Confirm the energy rate and working state after each chain.
  5. Place Spinner and Repeater relationships last if their timing is sensitive.
  6. Keep the original screenshot until the rebuilt grid completes a full work cycle.

The planner can export its own state for transfer between browsers. That export is a planner layout, not a game save, and should never be pasted into a game file.

Current-version limits

The community planner was last updated before the July 29 full release during this review. Its component definitions and optimizer rules are therefore a strong planning aid, not the final authority for every v1.0.x component.

Verify current-game behavior when:

  • a component shape or connector differs from the planner;
  • a tier-two item replaces a demo item;
  • a Spinner or Repeater appears powered but does not work;
  • a Collector, Grabber, or Smart Grabber behaves differently after an update;
  • the body expansion sequence changes.

Use the component behavior reference before rebuilding a disputed chain. The connection diagnostic provides a controlled one-component test.

Community authorship

The application is created and maintained by Zdendys79. Its public source repository and standalone planner remain the authoritative locations for that community project.

This guide does not label the repository as open source because it does not currently declare a reuse license. It embeds the author's hosted application, links the original source, and adds independent operating guidance around it.
